FAY GOLD PRESENTS: ONWARD

Besharat Gallery
175 Peters St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30313 - Gallery Info

MARCH 18, 2010 - MAY 01, 2010
EXHIBITION CURATED BY FAY GOLD

Acclaimed Atlanta art connoisseur Fay Gold recently met with Massoud Besharat at his gallery, located in a renovated mid-19th century warehouse in the Castleberry Hill arts district. He proposed that she curate an exhibition in his grand 3- story space of the artists whose careers she has impacted by their representation at her former gallery. They have now teamed up to present this exciting event, fully and enthusiastically supported by the artists. Titled ”Onward”, this collaboration will showcase the evolution of the artists’ creative process in the past year.

Much anticipated, there will be an opening reception, Thursday evening March 18, 2010, from 8 to 10 pm at Besharat Gallery, 175 Peters Street, Atlanta, GA 30313. Valet parking will be available on Mangum Street.

“Everyday our senses are bombarded with ideas that attempt to alter the way we think,” Gold says. “It is a natural process to dispel the artistic myths that we may have believed in the past and offer a revolutionary solution that will revitalize our minds and spirits.”

A list of exhibiting artists include: Michael Barringer, Sheila Pree Bright, Gordon Chandler, Corrine Colarusso, John Folsom, Debra Fritts, Tony Hernadez, Zoe Hersey, Scott Ingram, Robert Jessup, Jennifer JL Jones, Cynthia Knapp, Anthony Leggins, Michael Lucero, Jane Manus, Thomas Ostenberg, Joe Peragine, Dan Quigley, Herb Ritts, Terry Rogers, Marlene Rose, Spizman/Gibson, Joyce Tenneson, Gregor Turk and Boaz Vaadia. A diverse range of mediums including painting, encaustic, photography, sculpture, ceramtics, glass and Venetian plaster will be represented.

I would like to extend a special thank you to Massoud Besharat and Jesse Harrison for their efforts and support in making this exhibition possible,” Gold states.

Public gallery hours during ”Onward” will be every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12 to 5 pm through May 1, 2010 or by appointment. For more information, call 404 – 524 – 4781 or 404 – 233 – 3843.
