Gisela Romero was born in Carácas, Venezuela in 1960. She has studied in both Venezuela and the States and represents an artist who bridges the artistic sensibilites of both North and South America. In 1985 she graduated from the California College of Fine Arts and Crafts with a bachelor of fine arts degree. In 1992 she received a masters in Fine Arts in Printmaking from Pratt Institute, New York.
Romero has been a professor in various cultural institutions in Venezuela. From 1996 -97 she was Vice President of the Carácas Drawing Circle and since 1993 has been a member of the Associated Graphic Artists of Venezuela.
